Everyone is afraid of something.

I have a friend that is scared of clowns. No Ringling Circus for that lady! Another friend is scared of mice. Yuck.

For me, I have a borderline unhealthy fear of bugs. Spiders and those shivering super fast million legged things. Yikes. Even talking (or, you know, typing) about them makes me feel uneasy!

Bugs at the Beaverhausen’s

In our last house, we remodeled the basement into a bedroom for Teenager Beaverhausen. Before then, it was just storage so we were never really down there. I mean, other than to shove more stuff into the darkness.

Since Teen moved in though, it was a whole different situation .Those creepy crawlers that were perfectly content staying in the dark corners buried in our junk were unleashed into the living areas of the house. And I am going to be honest, not one little part of me liked it.

We also had a serious spider problem around the deck outside and in the yard. Sometimes on a real dewy morning, it would be frightening. It looked like fake spider webs. Almost as if the Mister had spread them around as a joke.

But nobody was laughing at these webs. They were serious business. As were the freaky (probably flesh eating) spiders attached to them.

Enter Boo’s Bug Stoppers

What to do?! My first step was to ask my YBC peeps if they knew of a good bug guy. Word of mouth, that’s the best referral I have been able to find. Both Andy and Marc recommended Boo’s Bug Stoppers.

I don’t know who Boo is, but I liked him immediately because his name was connected to the words BUG STOPPERS.

On the first visit, Dave came to the house. He was a very nice guy that was incredibly sympathetic to the plight of the Beaverhausen Spider/Million-Legger Situation. We walked around the house and he really got into it. Going into those dark corners that only a true bug guy would love! The kids and I sat in the living room and watched him spraying down the outside, even under the deck, and then he made his way inside.

This part is very important in the world of bug killing: We didn’t have to go anywhere. The kids, the cat and I were all perfectly safe to be right next to the spray. They use a natural solution that is fine for everyone and everything…with the exception of crawling bugs. Score!!

Dave finished up and moved out to his truck to put away his supplies and grab our invoice. This is where I started to get a little nervous. I mean, sure it was important to kill these monsters and feel safe again, but at what cost?

We certainly didn’t want to pay hundreds of dollars…. But alas, we didn’t! Boo’s Bug Stoppers saved the day again with an invoice that wasn’t even close to what we were thinking it would be! Yahoo!

The Bug Free Guarantee

We scheduled them for a tri-annual visit, and GET THIS. They guaranteed us spider / bug free for those three months. GUARANTEED! If we saw anything, we just needed to call them and they would come right back out to respray. We didn’t see anything, but that guarantee is NICE.

Fast forward six months to the new house.

Now we are in the country, ie 1/3 of a mile out of Beaver (real country livin out here…. sarcasm). The house had been vacant for a few months before we were moving in so there were some creepy crawlies around. Called Boo’s again, no big whoop!

They came right out, sprayed and guaranteed this house just like the old house…three months, no creepy crawlies. That has been a month or so, and we have been in a bug-free zone since.

Few things make me happier than to say I live in a “Guaranteed Bug-Free Zone.” Bugs are important, I get it. But I also get that I don’t want to see them in this house. So this is the compromise I am willing to make: They can live anywhere but here.

Josh and his team at Boo’s Bug Stoppers are a great bunch of folks! They are quick to respond to my calls, quick to arrive, and quick to treat the problem. They get the Beaverhausen Stamp of Approval for sure! Give them a call for your house and your own peace of mind. You will sleep better at night knowing you won’t wake up to a giant flesh eating spider on your face.
