616 14th Street, Monaca

It’s no secret that I love living in downtown Monaca. It’s close to literally everything in Beaver County, and some of the values you can find are really unbelievable.

While I was driving home earlier this week, I noticed a RE/MAX sign in front of a brick house right at the bottom of 14th Street hill.

As I got closer, I realized it was Melissa Gulla’s sign so I got out and took a picture of the house. I also made a note to look into what it looked like inside and how much it was listed for.

As it turns out, the house is listed for just under $100,000 and the inside is really nice and very spacious. Once again, it looks like I stumbled onto a great house in Monaca.

The Numbers

  • Asking Price: $89,900
  • Square Footage: 1,800 sq ft
  • Price/Square Foot: $55.50
  • Lot Size: 9,147 sq ft
  • Bedrooms: 3
  • Bathrooms: 2

Lots of Space

Looking inside the house, the biggest draw for me is that fact that the rooms are all very spacious. There is tons of room in the living room and dining room, and even more in the kitchen.

On top of that, the entryways that separate each of the rooms are also very big. This gives the house that open floorplan feel that is so popular right now.

Lots of Updates

Built in 1954, this house is not exactly old compared to some of the other houses in Monaca, but it has also come along way from the 1970’s style cabinets that likely filled it at one time. There have been a ton of great updates that really make the home feel inviting.

The refinished hardwood floors are gorgeous, and all of the new white cabinets that line the kitchen are simply stunning. The trim that runs throughout the house has all been painted white to give the entire home a fresh, clean feeling.

Keeping Some Character

One of the things that I really love about this house is that one of the walls in the living room is entirely made of white painted brick. There is a fireplace located in the center of the wall and it really comes off as a great focal point.

The Outdoor Space

Another aspect of this house that I am in love with is the awesome covered breezeway that separates the house from the garage and the really nicely done backyard patio area.

The breezeway makes for a nice sitting area, and the backyard is surrounded by a tall white fence that offers plenty of privacy for sitting on the patio. As someone who loves to work outside in the summer, this is a great selling point for me!

There are quite a few aspects that could really make you fall in love with this house, but for me, it’s all about the value! This is the type of home that gives you plenty of room to spread out and relax, and with a decent down payment, you could literally have a mortgage payment in the range of $500 per month.

My college dorm room was more expensive than this house!
