This is a guest contribution from Bill Lucas, who is Vice President of Junior Achievement of Western Pennsylvania.

On June 29th, Junior Achievement of Western PA will be teaming up with local Beaver County businesses and organizations to bring JA’s message of opportunity and hope to our young people. The JA Beaver County Bowl-A-Thon will help raise crucial funding for Junior Achievement programs in financial literacy, workforce development and entrepreneurship being taught in Beaver County schools.

All proceeds from the Bowl-A-Thon go directly to support the programming needs of over 1,000 students here in Beaver County. JA connects classroom learning with real-world application. Students who make the classroom-workplace connection achieve more in their schools, communities, and future careers.

Great for Team Building

The JA Bowl-A-Thon is also a great team building activity that allows participants to come together and enjoy camaraderie while raising money to support the students in their community. Participants recruit teams, raise money, and then celebrate their efforts with an evening of bowling, food, drinks, and prizes at the Bowl-A-Thon. It’s a party with a purpose!

Every $35 raised helps us to serve one more student in our community. Through the JA Bowl-A-Thon, you have a direct impact on the future of our region’s students and workforce. The more money you raise, the more students you will help serve and the more prizes you can win!

Getting Involved

To help fulfill its mission, JA is seeking sponsors, fundraising participants, and in-kind donors for the Beaver County Bowl-A-Thon. Interested parties can also form bowling teams of 4-6 people, each asked to raise a minimum of $75. Teams will be provided with 3 hours of bowling, shoes, pizza, drinks, t-shirts and entry to various raffles and prizes. To get involved please contact Bill Lucas at or (412)-208-4747 ext: 112.
