If you are looking for some “me” time, especially around the holiday season, look no further. I’ve got your perfect solution and it’s right here in Beaver County.

Along the Ohio River in Beaver County lies a respite for relaxation called the Health Cove/Recovery Room. These two separate businesses are juxtaposition to offer a wide variety of health services and high quality boutique items at reasonable prices. As a pharmacist/healer, I was enthusiastic to discover a wellness center right in Beaver County.

Upon walking into this hidden gem off of Brodhead Road in Monaca, I was enamored with the beautiful small touches that make a place unique and extraordinary. A quaint coffee, tea and essential oil infused water station. A welcoming, well-lit room to relax before your appointment. And my personal favorite, an affirmation bowl for you to select an inspirational quote to uplift your spirit.

Owner, Lisa Hickman lead me around the cove, describing the mission of the Health Cove/Recovery Room.

In her words, “We are a place that offers options and opens up a conversation with our clients. We really listen to what they want and adjust what we bring in, while sticking to our mission.”

They do not prescribe, diagnose or treat any illnesses and always refer clients to check with their doctor before starting any service.

On the treatment side, they offer individual and couples massage, reiki, ionic foot bath, group pampering parties and Zyto scan, technology that utilizes a hand cradle to detect various imbalances in the body. Many people come to the Health Cove/Recovery Room to relax and find alternative ways to support their health.

As a pharmacist, I’ve seen my fair share of complementary health products. I was thoroughly impressed as I entered the boutique side and got to see the various high quality essential oils, DIY scrubs, forms of CBD, incense, handmade purses, Himalayan salt lamps and crystals. There is not much you won’t find here and there is really something for everyone. Lisa’s mission is cohesive throughout the entire store, displaying high quality products at affordable prices.

The Health Cove/Recovery Room gets an influx of clients referred from local docs in the area for the CBD selection. The CBD comes in different formulations – gummies, capsules, and as an oil to accommodate client preference on how to ingest it. CBD works on the endocannabinoid receptors that are located all throughout the body without the sedative effect of the THC normally found in marijuana. This extract can support many conditions like anxiety, pain, sleep issues and more. *Since supplements are not regulated by the FDA, there can be no claims to diagnose, treat or cure an illness.

I left the Health Cove/Recovery Room with some new white sage incense and a ton of literature on the products/services offered here. Whether you are looking to simply enjoy some time to yourself, want to have a spa weekend with your girlfriends, or are curious about complementary health therapies, this is the spot for you.
