So here’s a little personal info about me… About a year ago, I started doing yoga in my basement by following along with some YouTube videos.
I used to be a big runner, but years of miles had really worn me down and I was struggling with a lot of pain in my ankles and knees. At the time, yoga seemed like an interesting alternative that could keep me in decent shape without playing havoc on my joints.
As it turns out, a little bit of stretching opened up a whole new world for me. Thanks to regular yoga workouts, I don’t get mad and flip out on people anymore…which I’m sure my family will tell you is a pretty dramatic change from the Andy of a few years ago.
Practicing yoga in my basement by myself work really well for me. But maybe you are the kind of person who needs to get out and have someone else coaching them. In that case, I have found three different options in Beaver County that might be able to help you get started.
Sangha Center for Yoga and Wellness
Located right on Third Street in Beaver, you have probably looked up at the Sangha Center for Yoga and Wellness once or twice before and noticed the Y-O and G-A in their third floor windows.
If you are looking for a highly recommended place to get started practicing yoga, this is the place to be. They offer multiple classes on a daily basis with both morning and evening times. There are also a variety of different classes that include Beginner and Beyond Yoga, Broga (for the dudes), Yin Yoga, Flow Yoga, Mediation, and many other mixed and advanced level classes.
As if all of that isn’t enough, Sangha also offers classes specifically geared towards kids each and every month!
You can pay for your classes in a variety of different ways including everything from a one-time class to check it out all the way up to an automatically renewing monthly pass.
Here is one of their many AMAZING Facebook reviews:
Healing Roots Massage
OK, so maybe taking classes with other people out in public isn’t for you. I get that. Totally understandable. But we have an option for you, too.
Right across the street from the Sangha Center is a place called Healing Roots Massage. Here you will find Sarah, who is first and foremost and amazing massage therapist:
In addition to massage therapy, Sarah also offers private yoga instruction by the hour.
Center at the Mall
If you happen to be over the age of 50, you can also find local yoga classes happening over at the Center at the Mall. My mother raves about their fitness center, but there are also tons of different classes available here…including yoga every Tuesday and Thursday at 10 am.
If you are willing to venture a bit outside of Beaver County, you can also find tons of great yoga options in both Cranberry and Robinson. But it’s great to find that we have plenty to pick from right here in Beaver County as well. Are there any other local options that I missed?
