As summer slowly draws to a close, you may be just like me and want to cram in as many activities as you can!!
Whether you have kids who are going back to school or want to enjoy some adult time while the weather is beautiful and the sun doesn’t set until after 9 pm, I’ve compiled a list of my top 5 things to do in Beaver County this August.
Let us know what events you’re most looking forward to, or if there is anything that we should add to our list!
See the Clarks at Thursdays
That’s right, folks. The Clarks are going to be playing a show at Thursdays THIS WEEK! (Friday, August 2nd) For a band who typically sells out venues like Jergel’s and Stage AE, it’s so great to have them in our back yard. And from someone who sees them live… like a LOT… I can tell you they put on a fantastic show!
Get tickets on the official Facebook page- they’re only $20!!! https://www.facebook.com/events/2404697119806250/
Hit up a car cruise… or several
August is the busiest month of the year for car cruise patrons! No matter which part of the BC you live in, there’s a cruise for you practically within walking distance. Check out the local talent, or go get yourself a dash plaque if you’ve got your own sweet ride!

Go to the Fair
This is by far one of my favorite childhood memories. Eating funnel cakes and riding anything that spins until you’re dry heaving next to the port-a-john. Getting that initial scent of farm animal as soon as you park your car, but not caring and going to pet everything anyway. Watching demolition derbies, getting your face painted, falling asleep while your Dad carried you back to the car… it’s a crazy, fun, messy, MEMORABLE event for the whole family!
The Hookstown Fair is taking place August 20-24.
The Big Knob Fair is being held August 27-31.
Eat ALL the foods at San Rocco
You don’t need to be Italian, or Catholic, to enjoy the magic that is the San Rocco Festa. The 94th annual SRF will be held from August 9-11. The main portion is held at the Fred Taddeo Park in Center, and is only $3 to get in (FREE if you’re under 12). Don’t miss the fireworks on Saturday night and the baby doll dance Sunday night!
Spend a day outside enjoying food, family, friends, and fellowship! Event website is here: http://www.sanrocco.org/
Watch a movie under the stars
With a few different communities offering outdoor movies this summer, you’re bound to find one close to you! Pack up your lawn chairs and get the kiddos out for an evening under the stars.

*Already announced they will be playing How to Train Your Dragon 3
