valentine's day

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and if you are anything like me you probably haven’t even started thinking about planning until about……well I haven’t really started yet.

Waiting until the last minute to decide on what to get that special someone is probably going to make the entire Valentine’s Day experience very stressful, but that doesn’t have to be the case. There are lots of great businesses around Beaver County that can help make this Valentine’s Day the best one yet!

While you are working on your last minute gifts and plans, here are some of our friends that might be able to help you impress your sweetheart:

Flowers are the obvious gift for your loved one. If you’re like me, you’ve always just run into Giant Eagle at the last minute and picked up a dozen roses in a simple vase. If you are looking to step up your flower game this year, Stems by Syd is the way to get it done. Syd will get you fixed up with an awesome arrangement that your Valentine will just love!

M&C Sweets

Chocolates are a popular Valentine’s Day gift, but why not substitute the standard chocolates for chocolate CUPCAKES! M&C Sweets are Beaver County’s specialty cupcake experts. This is a great idea for desert, especially if you are planning to cook a romantic meal at home. I personally like the peanut butter cupcakes and the s’more cupcakes, but they are all delicious!

Dulcinea Chocolates

Speaking of chocolates, Dulcinea Craft Chocolates are a fantastic option if you want to go the traditional route. This is some of the best chocolate you will ever try, and your Valentine will certainly be impressed that you picked up something a little bit nicer than the chocolates in the grocery store. You can get Dulcinea Craft Chocolates at Sapling & Sons in downtown Beaver!

Sapling & Sons

Since we mentioned Sapling & Sons, they have a great selection of cards that will be a bit different from the kind you are going to see at the grocery store. This is another cool way to add an even more personal touch to your gift!

Going Out to Dinner

It’s not a big secret that everyone here at Your Beaver County is big on going out to dinner, so there is a good chance that we will all be taking our significant others out to eat on Saturday evening. My go-to restaurant for this type of event would be the Wooden Angel in Beaver, but I heard yesterday that they are already booked solid all weekend.

If you are looking for ideas for an upscale, romantic dining experience, you might want to check out The Fairport, Biba, or The Palms Brazilian Steakhouse. For the less formal, but still delicious experience, Mario’s and Hollywood Gardens are both great options. If you are looking for a casual Valentine’s dinner, The Ball Joint is definitely a place to consider.

There is a good chance that all of these places are going to be busy on Saturday, so it would certainly be a good idea to call early as soon as possible and ask about reservations.

At the risk of sounding overly cheesy, all of the gifts and dinners don’t mean anything compared to spending quality time with the important people in your life. So don’t overthink the gifts or the dinners. The big thing to worry about is making the time to remind the person you care about how special they are to you!
