Fall is my absolute favorite time of year! The beautiful colors, the fantastic (usually) weather… Finally swapping summer’s swampy weather and lemonade for cool days and red wine. It is a welcomed change of pace after how It is also a great time of year to get outside and take part in some of the tons of activities the county has to offer! Between fall festivals and spooky parades, there will be plenty to choose from!
Fall Festivals
Weekend of October 3rd
Chippewa United Methodist Church on Darlington Road. Lots of fun for games for the kiddos on Saturday, along with pumpkin wagons, a bake sale and plenty of other activities. 10am-2pm. www.chippewaumc.org
Vanport Fall Festival, VFW Jefferson Street. The Crows Run Band will start playing at 1pm and there will be food booths, pumpkin painting and more. 12pm-5pm. 724-601-9953
Heritage Days Festival, Buttermilk Falls. Horse drawn wagon rides, live entertainment, crafts and food, even a petting zoo and pony rides! This festival also runs Sunday, October 4th as well. 8am-6pm www.villageofhomewoodjunction.org

Bridgewater Annual Pumpkinfest, Bridge Street. To open this years festivities will be a ‘Flag Retirement Service and Ceremony’. Sandy the Witch will be there, along with a petting zoo, pumpkin maze, crafts and more. 10am-3pm. 724-709-8432

16th Annual Applebutter Fest, Vicary Mansion Freedon. Tour the Vicary Mansion and celebrate all things applebutter at this fun festival! 10am-5pm. www.bchrif.org

New Brighton 1 mile Dash and Halloween Parade, main street New Brighton. The event starts at 5:30pm with the dash and the parade begins at 6pm. www.nbarc.net

An Evening of Tales and Hauntings, Vicary Mansion Freedom. 6:30pm is a presentation by the Center for Unexplained Phenomena, 7:15pm starts the judged costume contest (zombie is the theme!), and 8pm starts the story telling.
