best-breakfast-spots-in-beaver-county

They say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day; and it also happens to be my favorite! French Toast, BACON, waffles… I could eat these things morning, noon and night. So can my husband, and so can our son. I am a lucky girl!

I love that I can have something so basic like scrambled eggs and fill them with everything but the kitchen sink, then cover it in jalapenos and Sriracha. I also love that I can have pancakes so full of chocolate chips that they taste more like dessert than an actual meal.

So if you’re from Beaver County like me, you know that you have seemingly endless options to choose from when grabbing your morning treats. As I mention in most of my articles, we are known for our food, and our love of it!

The question is:

What are some of the best spots and best menu items for my fellow breakfast lovers? I tried to limit it to one per town with a few honorable mentions, but I could go on for days about breakfast. Having said that… here we go!

Rainaldi’s, Center Twp.

Do yourself a favor and get the Italian Blueberry Pancakes. They are made from a sweet ricotta cheese and vanilla batter and are absolutely to die for. Their homefries are crispy, seasoned and delicious, and their breads (which you wouldn’t think could have any weight on your breakfast decisions) are amazing!

Outdoor seating on the patio during the summer months is always a plus as well!

Waffles, INCaffeinated, Beaver

One of the more unique breakfast spots in Beaver County, you can get your standard sweet Belgian waffle covered in fruit and whipped cream, or you can get one smothered with spicy chorizo and homemade pico de gallo, and literally everything in between.

Be sure not to wait too long, because they are only open for breakfast and lunch. These specialty waffles and other offerings are absolutely worth waking up for!

Janice’s Sweet Harmony Café & Catering, Ambridge

If you like biscuits and gravy, you need to come here and try the Slide Trombone! As you can probably tell, the musical theme of this restaurant extends beyond just the name. The décor and all of the menu items follow suit. Ever heard of a German Apple Pancake? I’d highly suggest giving it a whirl!

Athens, Beaver Falls

This is one of the rare spots that isn’t a corporate chain that serves breakfast ALL DAY! In the mood for brinner when you get home from work? Head on down to Athens!

They have my favorite home fries in the county! They are grilled and crispy and just a little bit smashed with the spatula. And of course, being a Greek restaurant, they put gyro meat in their omelets. Mmm Mmm good!

Kelly’s Riverside Saloon, Bridgewater

Want to enjoy your MTO omelet sitting under a palm tree with your toes in the sand watching boats cruise down the river? Look no further than Sunday brunch at Kelly’s. Seriously. Go there!

They make fresh waffles, Tropical smoothies, and much, much more. This is your opportunity to almost feel like you’re on vacation right in the heart of Beaver County! And since it’s full of sand and palm trees, the kids love it!

Uncommon Grounds Café, Aliquippa

Ever been to a non-profit café? Uncommon Grounds is a very rare find whose staff is composed of all volunteers! Their food and beverages are all delicious, very reasonably priced, and they have a variety of espresso drink options for the caffeine lovers out there.

Hot Dog Shoppe, Take Your Pick

HDS will always have a bit of a soft spot in my heart. My husband and I have been coming here for breakfast ever since we met over 12 years ago. I always think we’ll get tired of it and want to take a bit of a hiatus. But we don’t.

This is the typical “after church” spot on Sunday in almost every town in Beaver County. If you want a souvenir cup and a great breakfast, maybe accompanied with some chili fries… stop on by HDS!
