Richmond Little Red School is the only one-room schoolhouse, out of six that were located in Brighton Township, still standing today. For 106 years, from 1844-1950, the schoolhouse was home to first through eighth grade students taught by one teacher. Nineteen years after it’s last class, it was restored as a museum. Many of the original items from the schoolhouse were returned, including the school bell, which was taken as a prank 90 years before. A woman from Ohio had written in her will to give the bell back to the Richmond School, where it rightfully belonged.
