This is a guest article contributed by David James. Dave enjoys every moment in Beaver County with his wife and daughter. He is employed by the federal government and resides in Center Township. Close your eyes, let me paint a picture everyone has lived through: You come home from work exhausted from a long day and your spouse, kids or loved one ask the last question you want to hear…”What are we doing for dinner?”

You are hungry, but you hate this question because you are tired of eating the same old thing or it’s impossible to decide on one place that everyone agrees on. So what do you do? You drive around Beaver County stopping at multiple locations to please everyone’s palate.

What if I told you there is a place where the menu changes often, the food is reasonably priced and there are a plethora of delicious, homemade options like something your mother or grandmother made from scratch? Open your eyes, you do not need to use your imagination anymore because this place actually exists, and it is called Metro Grill.

Why Metro Grill is Awesome

Located in Heritage Valley Plaza Center Township (off of Brodhead Road next to the car wash), Metro Grill is my absolute favorite place to pick up lunch or dinner. Before I get into Metro Grill’s impressive menu of American, Mediterranean and Eastern European cuisine, let me express some of my favorite non-food aspects of the Metro.

Owner Chef George Metropoulos and his staff do the little things so well it makes such a big difference.

The first is consistency. I have been a patron of the Metro for almost ten years and have always enjoyed my meal. If you try something and really love it here, I promise the next time you order it, it will be exactly the same as it was the last time.

My second favorite aspect is the online menu. Since some of the soups, entrees and other items change every day, Metro Grill’s website is always up to date with the daily menu. When I know that I will not have time to cook dinner at home, I love being able to pull up the menu on my phone and see what mouthwatering options Chef George has to offer that day.

The final aspect which can not be overlooked is how much Metro cares about the final product. All orders are carefully wrapped and packaged nicely, so you will never have a spill in your car, and everything looks so appetizing when you bring it either home or to the office.

The Metro Grill Menu

With over 60 daily homemade lunch or dinner options, not even including soups or sides, it is so easy to find something for everyone on an office lunch run or for a family dinner at home.

The menu is broken up into 7 different and easy to navigate categories: soups, sides, paninis, entrees, salads, sandwiches and desserts. As there are so many awesome choices, I will talk about a few of my favorites and leave you to discover your personal favorites.

Starting with soup, you can not overlook the Crab and Roasted Red Pepper Bisque. The sweetness from the roasted peppers and the delicate taste from the crab combined with a rich creamy broth, this is truly an experience you owe your taste buds. The wedding soup is equally as delicious if you are looking for a non-seafood alternative.

Under sides you will find Mediterranean favorites like hummus and grape leaves, as well as stuffed banana peppers.

Paninis and sandwiches gives you so many more avenues to go down. Want a burger or a hot sausage sandwich? Metro has it. In the mood for a gyro? They have that too. Need a vegetarian alternative? The roasted eggplant with red peppers and mozzarella panini is simply amazing.

All salads are made with the freshest ingredients that can be chopped to order, and the Metro Grill has marvelous house dressings.

The entrees section of the menu is filled with so many wonderful ethnic favorites like savory stuffed cabbage, delicate pierogies, pillowy gnocchi and creamy pastichio. You can also find multiple fish entrees or the house specialty Roasted Chicken.

This is only the tip of the iceberg as there are so many other choices and the changing selection.

Last but not least are the desserts. Sweet treats like homemade baklava or cheesecake is always a great way to finish off a delightful meal.

The food at the Metro Grill is so diverse and flavorful that you really need to experience it for yourself. Call ahead for pick-up orders or sit at the tables available in the storefront for an undoubtedly exceptional meal.

The Metro Grill also offers catering 7 days/week, including holidays.  So if you are trying to please a crowd, want a new lunch/dinner spot, or frankly want to eat food that tastes great, stop by the Metro, you will not be disappointed.
