McKinley School No. 3 was one of four one-room schoolhouses in Chippewa Twp. Built in 1872 and located at the junction of 37th Street Extension and McKinley Road, McKinley School housed grades first through eighth, all instructed by one teacher. As a rural school, many students lived on farms. These students were excused from school when help was needed on the family farm.
