Out to Lunch in Beaver: Waffles INCaffeinated

I’ve never really been a big fan of having breakfast food at meals other than breakfast. I can remember being a kid and telling my mom that breakfast for dinner was a cop-out. But when it comes to Waffles INCaffeinated in Beaver, I have no issues at all eating their food any time, day or night. That’s because everything on the menu at Waffles is absolutely mind-blowing.

When I swung through there for lunch on Friday, I got my favorite of about six things I rotate through on their menu: The Breakfast Tacos.

Back when I was a young lad, I always had a thing for the Breakfast Burritos at McDonald’s. This is not that. This is the gourmet version.

The Breakfast Tacos have a base of eggs, sausage, and cheese that would be good enough on their own. But when you top them off with homemade pico, sour cream, and a little cilantro, it’s pretty much heaven in a soft-shell tortilla. I just add a few dashes of Frank’s Red Hot and we’re good to go!

In addition to the tacos, I can’t eat at Waffles Inc., without getting at least one side order of bacon. I mean, just look at this bacon. This isn’t the cardboard stuff your mom makes. This is real, honest to goodness, delicious bacon.

“You think the Breakfast Tacos and bacon are good? As if.” – The Home Fries

Alright, so they didn’t actually come out and say that to me while I was eating them, but I could tell they were thinking it.

There aren’t your traditional home fries. They’re a mixture of regular and sweet potatoes that are cooked and seasoned to create one of the most interesting flavor combination you will ever find in an order of home fries. Yum! No salt needed!

While the food at Waffles INCaffeinated in Beaver is always top-notch, there is one thing that I don’t like about eating there…and that’s the fact that there is almost always a wait! This place just isn’t the hidden gem that it used to be. Word has gotten out.

However, if you skip breakfast and head over around lunchtime on a week day, you can usually catch a lull where you can grab a table pretty quickly, so that’s my recommendation. Getcho waffles!
