Light Up Your Summer: Festivals and Fireworks in Beaver County

festivals-and-fireworks-in-beaver-county

Growing up, going to see fireworks were the absolute BEST thing in the world!! Some of the best memories I have are sitting out in our front yard watching them shoot off at the country club.

The sound that you can actually feel in your chest, the smell of the smoke that they leave behind, the beautiful colors that light up the sky- it’s a special experience every single time.

If you have little ones like I do, or a family full of pyromaniacs…you know how much they LOVE fireworks.

And no matter how many boxes of sparklers you bring home from the store or how many bottle rockets and roman candles you smuggle illegally into your neighborhoods (which I clearly have never done and I don’t even know why you would ask?) it’s just not the same.

Here is a list of legitimate fireworks in Beaver County this summer. This way you can catch as many as humanly possible without even having to drive into the city!

Beaver County BOOM

  • Saturday, June 27th at 9:45 pm
  • The Point, Rochester
  • Fireworks? YES!

This is the largest fireworks display in Beaver County! They actually shoot them off from two separate barges where the rivers join at the point in Rochester/Monaca. Check them out from the park in Bridgewater, in Rochester, or in Monaca! You really can’t go wrong.

4th of July Carnival

  • Saturday, July 4th at Dusk
  • Lincoln Park, Midland
  • Fireworks? YES!

Looking for a way to celebrate your holiday weekend with your fellow Beaver County brethren? This is a 3-day carnival from July 2nd– 4th, complete with rides, a parade, car cruise and live entertainment. They are also the ONLY place in the county setting off fireworks on the 4th. Don’t miss it!!!

Park Fest

  • Friday, July 10th AND Saturday, July 11th at 10 pm
  • Hopewell Community Park, Hopewell
  • Fireworks? YES!

This festival is full of live music, great local acts, and spirit performances, as well as ethnic specialty foods and activities for the whole family. They are lighting up the sky BOTH Friday and Saturday night, so there is no excuse to miss out on these weekend fireworks.

Fireman’s Carnival

  • Saturday, July 18th at 10 pm
  • Blackhawk Intermediate School, Chippewa
  • Fireworks? YES!

This carnival begins on July 14th and continues on for five fun-filled nights. Bring the whole family for carnival rides, games, bingo, and a parade featuring the youth football players and cheerleaders in the area. And of course, don’t forget the fireworks!

Community Day

  • Sunday, July 19th at Dusk
  • Fred Taddeo Municipal Park,  Center Twp.
  • Fireworks? YES!

Not only will they have live music, but also a beer tent and bounce houses. What could be better? Oh yeah, the fireworks!

San Rocca Festa

  • Saturday, August 9th at 10:15 pm
  • Fred Taddeo Municipal Park, Center Twp.
  • Fireworks? YES!

This celebration of Italian heritage is as fun as it is delicious. Complete with a sauce tasting, parade, and fireworks, what’s not to love?

Big Knob Fair

  • September 4th at 10 pm
  • Big Knob Fairgrounds, New Sewickley Twp.
  • Fireworks? YES!

For the Country Folk in Beaver County, you CANNOT forget to check out the Big Knob Fair! Between the livestock exhibits for the kids, ATV races, tractor pulls, demolition derbies, live music, games, rides… I could go on and on.

The following carnivals/festivals are NOT having fireworks, at least not to my knowledge, but they are absolutely worth checking out:

Darlington Days

  • Weekend of May 30th
  • Darlington

Another three-day festival celebrating the community of Darlington with the annual Memorial Polo Match, arts and crafts, a Civil War encampment and tons of food and entertainment. Don’t forget your wheels for the car cruise!

Garrison Days Craft Show

  • Saturday, June 13th
  • Downtown Beaver Parks

Craft and antique dealers and food vendors from all over the country flock to our very own Beaver, PA on this very special Saturday in June. There is literally something for everyone! For you DIY-er’s… this is a MUST!

Beaver Carnival

  • Weekend of June 20th
  • Downtown Beaver Parks

Check out the carnival rides and games right in the heart of downtown Beaver! This is a great one for families with smaller children who don’t want to brave a full-fledged fair type of environment.

Beaver County River Regatta

  • Dates TBD – Usually the 3rd weekend in August
  • Bridgewater

If you’re feeling adventurous, try participating in some of the County’s most exciting water sports! Between the “Anything that Floats” race and the “Extreme Drag Boat Racing,” you’re sure to find some entertainment while you check out the regatta.

Hookstown Fair

  • August 25th -29th
  • Hookstown

Where else can you ride a merry-go-round AND a bull in the same day? The Hookstown Fair has its very own rodeo, and of course other attractions for all ages!

What is your family’s favorite summer festival? We’d love to hear about it and make sure we don’t miss out on any fireworks, food or fun!

This year is our 5th anniversary of BOOM and their will actually be 3 barges of fireworks. This show will be as large as Philadelphia’s this year and we are proud of its growth! We are going with a country theme this year so tune into WBVP 1230 AM or 1460 AM WMBA for BOOM programming that begins at 6 pm and the fireworks are choreographed to country music at 9:45 pm! Thank you! .
