In speaking with the organizers of the event, I was able to get the lowdown from two of this year’s acts – Matthew Ryan and Jay Wiley. Matthew Ryan said, “Last year was our first Labor Fest. The response by the community, fellow artists, radio stations, and newspapers was beautiful. The night we all had together was amazing. It just goes to show what a little elbow grease, hope, community and effort can do. This year is shaping up to be even better. What stood out last year was an air of togetherness that revolved around music, a good drink, a BBQ, evening sky and community. This year stands to be even better. I hope more will come and take part and feel what I’m talking about. It was special. All are welcome.” And Jay Wiley: “When we were asked to do it we jumped on it, we’re going to sharing the stage with not just good friends Bryan McQuaid and Paul Luc but we’re just goosebump-tingled to be able to play with artists who have influenced as well meaning Matthew Ryan & the boys from Two Cow Garage, every few times a year there are can’t miss shows for our fans – this is one of them by far!”
Feel like jamming to Labor Fest before it starts? Hey, that’s no big whoop. Check them out on Spotify here!! Seriously, this is a great lineup! Nice mix of artists with a fantastic vibe.
