wildwood-boutique

Another new store in Beaver has opened and you (or the lady in your life) need to get there fast! It is called ‘Wildwood Boutique.. with a kiss of country’ and it is filled with unique items for anyone, in any size and age group. Located two doors down from Beaver Super, right on the main street of town, you should make this part of your Beaver afternoon shopping trip.

This store initially caught my eye when they were remodeling. You know, there is something sooo intriguing about a papered up window! There were whispers all through town; people trying to figure out what Wildwood Boutique was all about.

Finally they took the paper down and put two mannequins in the window with the most adorable outfits on them! The clothes looked breezy and comfortable, casual but yet still a polished look, and the rest of the clothes in the store followed suit.

Meet Danielle & Carol

I had the opportunity to talk to Danielle and her mom, Carol, about the boutique. Danielle is a Beaver grad with her roots solidly in Beaver. She lives on (wait for it…) Wildwood Road in Ohioville. As she was visiting an aunt of hers last summer in North Carolina, they spent the day shopping boutiques in the area.

These small specialty shops were filled with clothes that she immediately fell in love with, and brands that she had never heard of before this trip. When she returned home, she realized there weren’t any stores like those small boutiques in this area. Sure, there are boutiques and shopping, but nothing in this casual and fun style. Any age group can wear these fashions, and anyone can afford them too.

So that was it! Danielle decided that she would just go ahead and open a boutique herself!! With experience as a graphic designer (and oddly enough, in concrete) it seemed like a perfect fit to move into retail sales – kidding of course!

How those things are related to clothing, I just don’t know! But you would never know it to talk to her. She knows what her vision is and everything in the store is exactly what she wants there! Danielle and Carol knew the shop would have to be in Beaver. When Pollock’s closed, they knew it would be the perfect spot. And they knew they wanted it to appeal to all women, of all sizes and ages. That is exactly what they have done here!!

One of a Kind Fashions

All of the items in Wildwood are really one of a kind, and you certainly will not find them anywhere else around here. They get in a shipment, and once it’s gone, it’s gone. There is no reordering or getting something back in. They like to keep things fresh and new, and the stock is going to be (and has been, because the stock is literally flying out of there) constantly rotating.

The brands they sell are comfortable but yet adorable. Who know that was possible?! My normal Yoga pants “uniform,” as The Mister likes to call it, could be completely phased out by what they carry in this boutique. Leggings and long tunics, sundresses and boots, tanks and jeans…all the accessories that you need, too. Necklaces, rings, boots and belts. You can get your entire outfit here. Or, like I did, a few of them (shh… my shopping is our little secret).

One of the first things I noticed, above and beyond the mannequins in the window, was how organized and easily shoppable Wildwood Boutique was! Racks of flowing tanks and dresses hanging, sweaters and vests in between, and all of that placed between adorable minimalistic signs and sayings.

The clothing was appropriate for any age group and any size too. Some of the sundresses could double as long tanks with leggings, and the sweaters and tanks could work for anyone. I am in love with the long sleeved, button up tunics! These can be belted or left open. One shirt, a few different looks. That’s the beauty of these clothes, they can be worn how you like to wear them.

A Kiss of Country

But what is ‘a kiss of country’, exactly? Danielle told me that she likes the country look – cowgirl boots, lacey and flowing tops, frayed jeans, and long tanks. Casual. Comfortable. Stylish. Just a touch of country in everything.

That being said, coming from someone who is as far from country as you could probably get, I thought these clothes were adorable! It made me think of Boho-casual, flirty and feminine more than country. But again, I am not familiar with the country lifestyle at all! I will take Danielle’s word for it though and now, and I will admit: I like clothes with a kiss of country!

Wildwood Boutique is having their grand opening event on April 2, so be sure to check them out. But they are already open and ready to get you dressed in a bit of your own kiss of country! Be sure to tell them Ana sent you when you stop in and then tell ME what you bought!

They are open Monday through Saturday, 10 am – 6 pm and are located at 618 3rd Street. Check them out on Facebook here
