My favorite types of charity work are the kind where you can see first-hand evidence that your contribution made a difference in someone else’s life. I’ve never been crazy about the idea of donating to big corporate charities, because I always wonder how much of my donation would get lost in the shuffle or end up funding unnecessary office expenses.

With the Big Brothers Big Sisters program, I get the chance to actually make a (hopefully) significant impact on someone else’s life.

Even if you don’t have time to volunteer as a Big yourself, there are plenty of additional ways that you can support this awesome local organization. One of the biggest way is to attend their Annual Auction and Dinner on Friday, November 7 at The Club at Shadow Lakes. The event will start with cocktails and registration at 6:00 pm and the cost is $75 per person and $125 per couple.

Those who attend will have the opportunity to participate in a great silent auction as well as an exciting live auction following what you know will be a fantastic dinner. The live auction will be conducted by Lynda Johnson and Mark Giles from Johnson Auctioneers. Everyone planning to attend must be over the age of 18.
