Yes, that’s right. We DO rock. And we do ROCKS… as Random Acts of Kindness, that is.

Over the past few weeks, my Facebook news feed has been peppered with pictures of brightly painted rocks. It took me a few to figure out what was happening, but once I did, I was pleasantly surprised.

The term ‘Random Act of Kindness’ has become a buzz phrase over the last few years. Who doesn’t love being on both the giving and receiving end of a kind deed?  The group #BeaverCountyRocks thinks that it is important to do for all age groups and it shouldn’t cost much, and you know what? I do too. This is such a great activity for everyone.

The creator of this local group, Angela, has so much information available on the Facebook page (these rock groups are all over the US!! This is just our very own local chapter, thanks to Miss Angela). The gist of it is this – You take your family to find rocks, then you paint the rocks! Make them unique, your own creation (but obviously make them G rated, because this IS a family friendly activity!). From there, be sure to tag your rock. There are tags available to print… again, on the Facebook page. They give instruction to whoever finds your rock to take a picture and hashtag it #BeaverCountyRocks. Some folks are even making their own hashtags. My kids and I will be participating with the tag #BeaverhausenRocks, so be on the lookout!

This is a great way to brighten someone’s day. Now go get some paint and have fun!
