Beaver County Model Railroad

The famous Beaver County Railroad and Historical Society will once again open up their doors this Christmas season. Every weekend from November 28th – December 28th, you can join them in celebrating the love for the railroad. The open house is free to the public where you are invited to Monaca where you can experience the hard work this society puts forth throughout the year.

The Beaver County Railroad and History Society has been around for over 30 years and currently has 16 members who meet year-round to design and construct train, railway and scenery operations. They are also known for constructing scale models of famous railways, such as the Horseshoe Curve. In addition, through their consistent reconstruction and restoration of trains and the railway, they accept any materials to help build their current projects and put pieces on display with a nod to their donor.

For this year’s Christmas event, the Beaver County Railroad and Historical Society encourage others to bring their own locomotives and set them free on their tracks. In addition to the constructed railways, they also house a large viewing library on anything from books to films to manuals. You are also invited into their workroom where you can observe the production of the scenery and detailing. This is an incredible experience and a great time to witness something truly unique to the Beaver County!

Beaver County Railroad and Historical Society Open House Times:
Fridays – 5:00pm – 9:00pm
Saturday and Sunday – 12:00pm – 5:00pm
Note: While admission is free, donations to the event are appreciated.

If you can’t make it this holiday season, they also open their doors for their semiannual train sales and viewings!
