When you have kids, your priorities suddenly change. Instead of looking for an isolated home in the middle of the woods, you start looking for homes in neighborhoods with other families. Rather than looking for a great price on a fixer-upper, finding a home in a great school district becomes a priority. Your desire for a luxurious master suite is replaced by a desire to cook dinner and keep an eye on the kids at the same time.
For the young family that relates to this situation, 126 Buttonwood Drive in Center Township is the perfect find. This reasonably priced home is located in a family-oriented neighborhood in a great school district. It also features a great semi-open floor plan and is in immaculate condition.

The Walnut Grove Neighborhood
As you drive through Walnut Grove, you are almost certain to notice a collection of bicycles, plenty of swing sets, and a number of basketball hoops. This is a neighborhood of families that is filled with kids of all ages.
I would say it’s a great neighborhood to live in. Everyone is friendly and gracious. It’s a very lively neighborhood. People are outside constantly. No complaints or problems with crime. People are scattered from all ages, children to teenagers to young adults and retired folk.”
– Zach Stobart, Longtime Walnut Grove Resident
Your children will be able to grow up in this neighborhood surrounded by friends. Not only will the neighborhood represent a safe environment for your kids to play in, it also means plenty of help when it comes to carpooling to practices, lessons, and school functions!
While the upsides of neighborhood living are obvious, one of the downsides in many neighborhoods is a lack of privacy. However, this home happens to be located on the outside of the neighborhood, so rather than another neighbors property, its back yard is lined with trees. This makes for a great combination of social options and privacy that isn’t available for every home in Walnut Grove.
The Semi-Open Floor Plan
Another stand-out feature with this home is that it features a semi-open floor plan. The back half of the first floor is an enormous kitchen that flows right into a large family room area. This will allow the adults to prepare dinner without letting the kids get too far out of sight! During the summer months, this great open space also flows right out onto the huge deck space that overlooks the woods behind the house.
While the back of the first floor is wide open, the front rooms offer a bit more privacy if you need a moment of quiet time in the living room or would like to serve a formal dinner in the dining room.
One of my favorite features about this house is the little sitting area that overlooks the top of the stairs. Don’t worry parents, the walls are high enough that you won’t have to worry! This unique feature adds a touch of character that really stands out.
Another feature that I really liked about the upstairs was the vaulted ceiling in the master bedroom. I also liked the way the other two bedrooms were situated on the opposite side of the floor. It’s an absolutely perfect layout for a family with two kids.
For the corporate executive couple that will get annoyed every time a basketball rolls into their yard, this probably isn’t the right home. However, for the family with one or two young children, there might not be a better location in all of Beaver County.
